Ingredient Spotlight - Lavender

INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT:  THE POWER OF LAVENDER

From the beauty of the purplish bluish flowers and the calming hypnotic scent, lavender flowers represent purity, serenity, grace, and calmness.

Purple being the colour of royalty represents elegance and luxury while the chakra is the crown evoking energy associated with spiritual connection.

The earliest records of lavender date back to ancient Egypt.

Lavender oil was used in the mummification process and during later times, it was used in Persia, Greece and Rome as an additive to their bathing rituals to purify the body and mind.

The power of Lavender is such that historical anecdotes tells us that lavender field workers survived the black death due to the plant’s potent properties.

Records from the Royal English Archives state that during the black plague in the 16th Century a band of thieves would break into the houses of plague victims to steal money and jewellery from the victims, without falling ill with the disease although it was highly contagious.

It transpired later they were from a family of perfumers who coated their bodies with lavender oil for protection from the deadly bacteria.

A town in England called Bucklersbury was spared the black plague due to the fact it was the centre of the European lavender trade.

The inhabitants would apply the scented lavender oil to protect themselves from the plague.

HOW TO BOOST COLLAGEN

READY TO BOOST YOUR COLLAGEN NATURALLY?

Collagen is that magical ingredient that keeps your skin looking youthful, fresh and radiant. It is produced naturally in your body and acts as scaffolding to provide support to the skin, muscles and bones. Its production begins to decline as you age, and many people resort to taking supplements with the hope of defying the ageing process.
