Nutrition
Take time to nourish your body with nutrient dense foods that support overall health and provide essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These include fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, lean protein, nuts, seeds and omega 3 fatty acids.
Aim to minimise processed foods, sugar and artificial additives as these cause inflammation and disrupt the gut health and microbiota.
Movement and Exercise
Try to incorporate a variety of activities daily, such as walking, yoga, cardio and strength training. This helps improve flexibility, strength and endurance whilst also helping to keep a healthy weight.
Sleep
Getting a good nights sleep is essential for restoring our mental, physical and immune functions. Prioritising good sleep hygiene and keeping a consistent sleep schedule will help improve our sleep quality.
Mental Health
A serious issue many people face is chronic stress. This is a by-product of our modern lifestyle and have a detrimental effect on our physical health, as well as contributing to depression, cardiovascular disease and other metabolic health disorders.
To help decrease stress, try to practice meditation and deep breathing exercises as these help promote relaxation.
Walking in nature is the best medicine with numerous science backed evidence stating it promotes healing, reducing stress and managing depression.
Social Connections
We all need supportive friends and family around us to provide emotional support and reduce feelings of loneliness to foster a sense of belonging. This helps increase happiness within us.
Try to contact your loved ones frequently and open up to them when you are struggling.
By incorporating these pillars into your daily life, you are starting to lay the foundations for holistic living and wellbeing from inside out.
This is something that matters greatly to us as it is one of the core foundations to maintaining glowy, radiant skin.
